Description:
Parents/guardians can sign up to spend a portion of time at Granger on a specific day. Your roles could include walking the halls, greeting students, helping in the LMC, visiting the lunch room and possibly being an extra set of hands in a classroom!
Program Goals:
-
Fostering a partnership between school and parent community
-
Help parents/guardians feel connected to the school
-
Increase excitement amongst the students, as kids love seeing parents/guardians in the building (even your kids tell you they don’t want you here...trust us, they do!)
-
Increasing support in parts of the building (LMC, house areas, hallways, cafeteria, etc)
Requirements:
-
Must be a Granger parent/guardian and have a student currently attending Granger. Grandparents can be considered, but no siblings.
-
Need to have a volunteer form filled out and on file with the office
-
Attend our Grizzly Den “Mandatory” training program (These trainings will occur the first time you volunteer)
Sign Up Process:
-
Please express your interest on the Google Form
-
We will be running the program on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays starting in November. These days are dependent upon the school calendar and school specific events.
-
You will not be assigned to any specific area, but rather will be able to help in a variety of spots during your visit.
-
You will have to commit to at least one of the time slots. You may choose a maximum of two time slots per visit.
- 8:00-10:30
- 10:30-1:00
-
1:00-3:00
-
Once you have expressed your interest, someone from Granger will reach out to you with the volunteer form and to schedule your date and time.
-
We will do our best to make sure we go through everybody on our interest list one time, before we reach out to schedule additional visits.
-
We have to cap our volunteers to a total of 4 per time slot.
*This is a new program for Granger and adjustments to the program might be made as we move forward.
